Lemon, Mint and Cucumber infused detox water is a wonderful, economic and natural way to detox our body. Now this word Detox, has made the rounds recently on the net for so many reasons. First, what is Detox? Detox is detoxification in short. So, what does this mean? It means removing toxins from our body. What are toxins? Toxins are nothing but harmful residuals that accumulate in our body due to unhealthy eating choices and lifestyle. They not only accumulate in our body due to unhealthy eating but even pollution contributes to it.

Does this detox help in losing weight?

Yes and No. There is no singular measure that you can adopt to shed kilos. That is the truth. If someone is telling you otherwise, they are either trying to fool you or trying to worsen your health by subjecting you to unnatural means of weight reduction. Whether you like it or not, you can only lose weight with a combination of practices that include physical exercise, a healthy diet regimen and some other means like Detox to quicken that process. In short, detox by itself will not help in weight loss. It is just a catalyst that will help in the process.

What happens in Detox?

Like i said, harmful substances called as toxins are flushed out of your body. The best way to do this would be to drink lots of water every day. Drinking lots of water not only helps flush toxins out but also gives you a healthy skin and keeps you refreshed. We can make this more interesting by adding an assortment of nutrient and benefit packed ingredients to kick-start the metabolism in our body and flush out toxins. When you drink more water, you tend to urinate more which in turn makes sure that harmful substances from your body is flushed out. Simple.

So, What is this Lemon Mint  Cucumber Detox Water?

Well, like i said, to make things a bit more interesting, i started giving Mr.P, who is constantly on some diet (which is mostly ineffective, thanks to his ladoo eating spree) these infused waters. I keep alternating with various ingredients in the detox water. And this time, i m sharing this Lemon, Cucumber and Mint Infused Water idea with you all.

Lemon– It is a natural astringent and helps in soothing your tummy. There is also the risk of acidity when you consume too much lemon. But the key reason here is the lemon peel. We are not going to just use the juice here. The lemon peel is rich in a substance called d-limonene. This is said to help promote weight loss by helping in your liver functions. The liver basically secretes bile, which breaks down fats in your body.

Mint– It adds a nice tang to your water. It makes you feel fresh. And is known to help in stomach ailments. It also helps in digestion.

Cucumber– It is a natural diuretic which is rich in vitamins. This also helps promote weight loss. As cucumbers are 90% water, they help you stay hydrated. It also helps get rid of Ammonia to a certain extent from your body.

Lemon Mint And Cucumber Infused Detox Water

A detox water recipe that helps in improving metabolism and promotes weight loss when taken with other weight loss measures.

Ingredients

  • Cucumber 1 small sliced thinly
  • Lemon 1 small sliced thinly
  • Mint leaves 10
  • Water 1 liter

Instructions

  • Place the mint leaves in a large pitcher and slightly muddle them.
  • To this squeeze the juice from two slices of the lemon.
  • Discard the slices.
  • Now, add cucumber, lemon slices and water to this.
  • Mix well.
  • Let sit in the fridge overnight.
  • Consume the first thing in the morning and continue to drink throughout the day.
  • Refill the pitcher if required.
  • Discard the remaining contents after 24 hours.
